Pro Skater Mike Rogers is one gnarly dude with a heart of gold and the fighting spirit of a samurai warrior. Mike is one of our heroes here at SkateXS and we fully support his mission of Helping People with Cancer through his Grind for Life non-profit organization.
SkateXS first started supporting Grind for Life during our 2014 Annual Give Back Campaign with three of our team skaters choosing Mike’s organization as their recipient of choice. The trend continued in our 2015 campaign and for 2016 we made the decision to make Grind for Life one of our two exclusive 4th Annual Give Back Campaign recipients, alongside with Skate Rising.
Grind for Life was born from Mike Rogers own life experiences, being a two-time sarcoma cancer survivor. Mike knows first hand what the realities are of a cancer diagnosis. Often that diagnosis comes with the added stress of having to search for treatment outside of where the person is living and this is where Grind for Life comes in with assistance for travel expenses for those that qualify.
Mike raises money year round for Grind for Life through a wide variety of efforts including the “Thrift for Life” thrift store in Cocoa Beach, FL and the world renowned Grind for Life skateboarding contest series. Mike personally travels throughout the country providing presentations and education in his constant efforts helping people with cancer.
